Axiom: Research Incubators

6, 12 Weeks

Course, Summer

G6–G12

Axiom connects students with online and in-person research programs that build academic depth and real-world credentials. Designed for students who want to stand out beyond grades and test scores.

6-Weeks | Research Brief

Live Session: 2 Hour Session, Twice a Week | Workload: ~3-4 Hours/Week

The Research Brief track is built for younger students and complete beginners, introducing the world of research in a way that feels approachable rather than intimidating. Students learn the same foundational ideas at an age-appropriate pace: what research is, why it matters, how to tell a trustworthy source from a shaky one, and how to turn a broad curiosity into one clear, answerable question.

Rather than tackling a full paper, they focus on the essential building block behind all research, learning to gather reliable information, make sense of it, and organize their thinking into a structured argument.

The output is a polished research brief: a short, well-organized document that lays out a question, what is already known, what the student found, and why it matters. For a young student, this is often a first real taste of independent, self-directed intellectual work, and it builds skills that pay off across every subject in school, from stronger writing to sharper critical thinking. It also serves as a natural stepping stone, giving students who discover a love for research a running start toward the Full Paper program later on.

12-Weeks | Research Paper

Live Session: 2 Hour Session, Twice a Week | Workload: ~6-7 Hours/Week

The Full Paper track takes students who have never done research and guides them, step by step, to a complete academic paper. Working alongside a professor and a PhD mentor across two sessions each week, students first learn what research actually is: the types of research, how to read a scholarly paper, how to find a question worth asking, and how to judge good evidence from bad.

From there they build real skills in searching the literature, analyzing data, and writing each section of a paper in the formal structure that scholars use. Along the way they write two short research briefs using existing data, then choose the stronger idea and expand it into a full study, with the option to collect their own original data for the more ambitious student.

The output is a finished, submission-ready research paper, complete with a literature review, methodology, results, and discussion, plus a shortlist of student journals and conferences to submit to.

For students, this is far more than a writing exercise. They come away with a tangible piece of scholarship they can put on a college application, a genuine understanding of how knowledge gets made, and the confidence that comes from having produced real academic work under expert mentorship. In a competitive admissions landscape, an original paper signals initiative, intellectual maturity, and follow-through in a way that grades and test scores alone cannot.
